John Allen

John Allen is co-founder and Managing Partner of Bluestone Investment Partners, a private equity group focused on investing in small defense and government services companies.  John has spent more than two decades in private equity and investment banking focused on the middle market aerospace, defense, and government sector.  John has been involved in more than 150 merger and acquisition transactions with a wide range of companies including some of the biggest names in the market such as CACI International, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, ManTech, Raytheon, SAIC, The Carlyle Group, and Veritas Capital.

Because of his success and thought leadership, John has received many industry accolades. He is frequently interviewed as an industry expert and has had articles and quotes published in many leading periodicals.  John has also briefed members of Congress and congressional committees on issues important to small and middle-market businesses.

John’s experience includes serving as a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Aerospace, Defense and Government Services Group.  John was also co-owner of Windsor Group before it was acquired by BB&T Corporation in 2005. While at Windsor Group, John co-founded Windsor Capital Partners Fund I, a private equity/mezzanine fund focused on investing in small and middle-market companies in the defense and government services space.

Before joining Windsor Group, John was President of Quarterdeck Investment Partners, an investment banking firm focused on the aerospace, defense, and government market. He helped lead Quarterdeck from a start-up to the eventual sale of a minority position to Jefferies & Company.

John has served on boards of multiple businesses and charitable organizations including BB&T Capital Partners | Windsor Mezzanine Fund, CIS Secure Computing, GAP Solutions and Iron Bow Technologies.  Additionally, John has served on the boards of Northern Virginia Technology Council and Northern Virginia Family Service.

John attended the M.B.A. program at American University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida.
